A Look At The Lexus RX 2016 SUV

The fourth-generation of the midsize luxury SUV the Lexus RX 2016 will be released to the public at the New York Auto Show. The exterior design reflects a more moderate version of NX, the smaller SUV that debuted in 2014.

The Lexus RX was first introduced in 1997 with a distinctly different approach to the midsize SUV that was being crafted by other automakers at the time.
The first generation was addressed directly for road use and combines the characteristics of driving luxury sedans with the interiors of the Lexus, a significant deviation from the SUV formula of the 90s.

It is expected that the new RX will offer an axe distance slightly longer than the previous model, as well as a larger cargo section and rear seats with a little more legroom.

It is believed that they’ll lengthen the charging section to compete with new SUVs from other automakers in this segment, which have tried to overcome the RX through statistics and numbers.

Although the base vehicle is also offered as a Toyota Harrier in other markets (notably Japan), the RX is positioned as a luxury vehicle with it’s price and supply. The current generation Lexus RX has been on the market since 2008 and has retained the appearance and proportions of the first version.

The outgoing RX is offered with a choice of V6 and includes a hybrid version for both Canadian and US markets. Excited? Come check out the new Lexus RX in St. Catharines at Performance Lexus today!
